The Niagara School of Health Care has been registered as a Private Career College with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities since 1992 and currently offers the approved Personal Support Worker program. This course meets or exceeds those standards required in section 47 of the current Long Term Care Act.
Our school specializes and focuses in one area, Health Care. We are a locally owned and operated College and not a franchise. Over 90% of our students come from referrals/recommendations from past students health care facilities and government agencies!
The school began as an educational institution that was founded by Nurses and educators to instruct individuals to become excellent employees and care givers that meet the expressed needs of consumers, Directors of Care and Administrators.
Our teachers are Registered Nursing instructors that bring their practical experience and clinical expertise into the classroom. The philosophy of our school also stresses the equally important skills necessary to be a successful and valued employee, such as reliability, responsibility, trustworthiness and empathy.
Our lab room has electric beds, mechanical lifts, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices that we train you to use to give you the opportunity to practice your skills in order to build confidence and competency before you begin your clinical experience.
We have trained over 2200 Health Care Aides and Personal Support Workers since 1992 and our graduates work in virtually every care facility in Niagara.
